Nylon Strings

Can i put nylon strings on my Acoustic guitar? Will it make it sound like a classical guitar?
I have a cheap acoustic that I bought when i was first starting out and I’m getting the strings replaced real soon. I had my eye on getting a classical guitar but a thought hit me. Can i put nylon strings on my acoustic or will it make it sound weird? Thanks in advance!
Well I understand that it seems logical to purchase nylon string and put them on (for what 10 dollars?) than go out and buy a whole new guitar… While you would be able to accomplish this without harm to the guitar, I almost guarantee the sound quality will be poor to basically just horrid.
(Now if you were putting steel strings on a classical it would more likely than not damage the guitar.)
I’m not rich, and I’m no Jimmy Page or George Harrison… actually really far from it, lol only been playing for over 1 year. Oh yeah so I was saying that I had bought both Acoustic guitars even though I felt I wanted to focus more on my steel string. In my opinion I would say buy a classical guitar, for the reasoning that if it’s something you really enjoy, it will make the experience so much better.
