Banjo Bass
im 16 years old and i want to be a working musician?
i have 9 years guitar experience i can play almost any stringed instrument including the mandolin , banjo , bass and im sure i can play other stringed instruments like the voilin and double bass if i played it for a few days i have no band does anyone have any reccomendations
There is a niche for strolling gypsy-type violinists – a friend of mine went into that after retiring from the symphony, where he was first chair second section. He worked dinner times, mostly, and occasional parties.
I also know a local violinist and guitar player who work as a duo, jazz exclusively. You might also consider a quartet ala Hot Club of France using strings as they did. It’s a nice sound and it can really swing. And you don’t need a big ol’ van to carry a drum set, etc.

Note that you are old enough; Diana Krall had a quartet when in high school.
